is itself reduced to the affirmation of a delintateness of spirit. Can the content of an entire sentence be expressed in a single word? Can this be resolved into a single punctuation mark, a punctuation mark made so that it becomes possible to read something in it beyond the sentence P This is the risky venture which Satorui Sato has taken upon himself He says more than a great deal through means close to nothing.

STIJN GUILIELMUS RUYS
Stijn's work results from a profound analysis and questioning of the definition and function of ‘furniture’. What is the meaning of concepts like ‘cupboard‘, ‘chair’, or ‘table’? Too often we still associate a ‘chair’ with four legs, a seat, and a back. Stijn wants to break with the obvious and create a formal language in which the focus is on visual tension. Through subtle interventions he sets out to disrupt the expectations of the user/spectator. Although his furniture is always functional, its perception is as important as its functionality. This tension between the practical and aesthetic value of an object is a constant in his work.
